Monamodi and Mpayathutlwa Pans

Beautiful little Steenbok standing in the road between Monamodi and the main entrance. We were on our way to the Ablution facilities not to far from the main gate.

The ablution facilities include gas-heated hot water.

The camp site sports some showers and long-drop toilets (pit latrines) and water for general purpose albeit very brackish. We only realised that these were avaialble after the girls have left for the facilities at the main entrance. Here is no hot water though.

The camping facilities at al the designated camp sites have these structures that can be used to pitch a tent under the sides and implement a shared kitchen are in the center. We never used it for that purpose though.

	To the left is the Monamodi Pan early in the morning.
	The Gemsbok to the left allowed Vinkie to get whithin some 50m before they started to turn and run away. The young Kudu above was found in the Monamodi Pan early in the morning.

The road from Monamodi Pans to Mpayathutlwa Pan . . .

. . . seems to keep on going forever.

Fortunately there are signs (sometimes).

What is this? If anybody can provide Vinkie with information on it please mail me. Vinkie thinks it is some type of tick. It is about 1/2cm long and there were lots of them.

The weather was great even though there were some spectacular thunderstorms later the week. It did cool things down somewhat.
